Will goodwill take box springs. Commercial sanitized sets are sold in goodwill stores when available. Some local branches of the salvation army and goodwill for example accept donations of mattresses and box springs provided that the items are clean and free of stains holes or other damage and some branches also offer free pick up. Goodwill happily accepts the following new or gently used items. We make it easy to navigate 100 goodwill locations in north georgia whether you re looking for stores donation centers or career centers. These items are not saleable in our stores and cannot be recycled. Many stores that deliver mattress and box springs will either refuse to take away old bedding or charge a hefty sum for the service.

These items may also be the perfect place for bugs germs and other pests to hide either in transport or at goodwill facilities. For safety and sanitary reasons waterbeds and corresponding frames are not accepted by goodwill. In many areas trash collectors will not take away used bedding either. Goodwill does not sell household units in the stores due to state laws requiring them to be sanitized.

All of our stores take gently used items in good condition. Goodwill accepts donations of clean gently used clothing and household items. This includes waterbed mattresses and waterbed frames as well as traditional innerspring and foam mattress sets. However due to an ongoing lack of adequate storage space we ask that donors refrain from donating any oversized items including large furniture and exercise equipment thank you for your patience as we continue to manage the large volume of goods donated by our generous community.

However mattresses and box springs take up a ton of space. Donating mattresses and box springs to local charities is a solution to this dilemma.
